This curious seagull took quite an interest in me before my descent! My guess is that it took a fascination with it’s reflection in my dome port! This was taken off Santa Barbara Island
While practicing my close focus, wide angle techniques on a spanish shawl nudibranch, I had a garibaldi repeatedly bomb the photo in the background. Someone sure is in need of some attention! Fun fact, the spanish shawl is named for the fancy shawls worn by spanish dancers!
If you’ve seen the tuna crab madness, most see them being lazy and blanketing the sea floor. However they seem to come alive at night at which can only be described as raining tuna crabs…
These funny looking fish are almost always are curious about divers. I think they also pretty vain and like to stare at their reflections in dome ports. Fun fact, sheephead are all born female! The dominant fish will transition to a male later on.
