La Jolla, California – Vallecitos Point
Dive #261
Beautiful evening at the Shores. Calm, glassy water, and baby waves 😀 Melissa, Jeff and I geared up to go looking for the wolf eel. Regardless of the ideal topside conditions,  there was definitely a current pulling us south. We dropped down and had 15-20 feet of viz easily, although hazy in some pockets. Bottom temp was 59 degrees, seems like a decent jump up from last week. Found the eel, thanks to the guys showing us where his den was last week. He was being super shy. Maybe I was disrupting his beauty sleep. 😀
The brittle sea stars seem a lot bigger than normal. Maybe its just me. And it was interesting to see a lot of them out and being super active climbing around. Lots of life out, it was really nice cruising the wall. Even though the current was less than desirable, I felt the viz was worth it. So if you don’t mind a little extra exercise, definitely get out and dive!
