La Jolla, California – Marine Room Canyon
Dive # – 380
Headed out with Terry to the Marine Room Saturday morning. Tide was coming in so we had a LONG surface swim. I know Terry was missing his scooter… 😀 Typical weird Marine Room  small waves in different directions, but they had no power. Perfect drop point right on the wall at 46 feet. Viz was GORGEOUS below 50 feet. 30+ feet viz. Calm, no surge, just awesome out. Temp was 52 degrees at depth. I found two active octopus, my favorite! Along with some of the usual critters. Most surreal point of the dive was at 76-80 feet. When you look out to the deep and you can see all the curves of the canyon backed by a beautiful deep blue… BLUE!!! Are you kidding me? I felt like the mermaids were calling. 😀 I wanted to explore the edge of the canyon into the blue SO BADLY but my computer would not let me with 5 min till deco. Just TAUNT me with amazing viz and blue water and then not allow me to go. Such a BULLY! We turned to head back and a few minutes later we hit the brown cloudy crap at 40 ft. Insert underwater temper tantrum here. Still a gorgeous dive and great way to get back in the water since work has been consuming WAY too much of my time.
