La Jolla Shores, California
If there was ever a perfect day at La Jolla Shores, Sunday was it. And I know you think all the dive reports were exaggerating with their boasts of 6 inch waves. You are right, they were exaggerating. It was more like 2 inches. π
Jeff and I entered the flat shallows waters in awe of the clarity. No waves, no swell, no current. I could really get used to this! π As we swam out we decided to pick very precise drop points “just to see” where we ended up. We ended up free falling to 80 feet. and with 30 feet of viz, free falling is AWESOME. We turned to move up to the wall and just kept cruising. I was photographing a feisty sarcastic fringehead on the wall when it decided to fly out of its hole right at Jeff who jumped back.Β Cold water mask flood from cracking up laughing. Again. π Jeff also found a flat fish which I think is a type of turbot. I followed it around with my camera for a bit. Nice to see a good sized one! Also saw more good sized octopuses on this dive than I have in a long time. They all had their own little condo in the rock wall. π Beautiful dive. Probably hands down one of my favorite morning dives!
